Greetings to all! My name is Paul Thiessen, Agent for Farm Bureau Financial Services.
Prior to becoming a Farm Bureau Agent and after completing my undergraduate degree, I went to Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Canada and taught in a junior high school. While in Canada, I played on a semi-professional soccer team and games were played in Newfoundland, Cape Britain Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. After two years in Canada, I returned to the United States and while earning my Master's Degree in Education I was the head soccer coach at Colorado State University. After graduating, I attended College Park in Maryland to work on a post graduate degree in exercise Physiology. During that time, I had the opportunity to play on the World Bank soccer team in Washington, DC playing games in the embassy league. After returning to Kansas, I taught at a small college for five years and decided to 'try' insurance.
Quickly I discovered I had a great passion for the insurance business and the impact it has on families. By the end of my first year, I was awarded the State Rookie of the Year in Kansas.
This led me to accomplish 15 ALL AMERICAN AWARDS in a row beginning in 1990 to 2005. Later, I was selected to be a member of the Farm Bureau Wall of Fame at our corporate headquarters in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Inducted into Farm Bureau Financial Services Hall of Fame 2003
